He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Herman J. Selinsky Psychiatry Award for his outstanding performance during his psychiatry rotation.
Dr. Kaplan specializes in general psychiatry and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He has extensive experience in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. His approach often combines medications and psychotherapy to ensure comprehensive patient care.
In addition to his role at NeuLife, Dr. Kaplan has a long history of leadership in the medical field. He previously served as the Corporate Chief Medical Officer at Lakeview Health, where he contributed to expanding treatment programs and health plan partnerships. He also held several key leadership positions, including Medical Director roles at Charter Hospital of Pasco, St. Augustine Health Care HMO, and Guardian Life Insurance Company.
Dr. Kaplan is an associate professor at the University of South Florida, where he continues to contribute to the Department of Psychiatry. He is also board certified by the American College of Forensic Examiners, the American Board of Forensic Medicine, and the American Board of Disability Analysts.
